Quote:
[Raven] “Ah, so this is the end, huh? Farewell, all my dear fans the world over!”
[Yuri] “I’ll make sure that your gravestone reads, ‘Here lies the world’s biggest sap.’”
[Raven] “You’re supposed ta say things like, ‘We can make it through this together.’”
Name: Schwann Oltorain
Alias: Raven
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Species: Human
Personality: He presents himself as a goofy sort of guy, he can be kind of dramatic at times (see quote), and he’s often described as a “fishy old man.” His goofiness occasionally leads to people not being able to stand him, so he’s grown used to getting punched in the face or hit with fiery-hot magic. Despite all this, he does have a serious side to him; he just hides it a lot of the time.
History (Bluh, this is a mess. Might condense it later so it’s not as rambling as it is now.):
Years ago, but not many, Raven fought in the Great War against the Entelexeia, intelligent, monster-like beings, as Captain Schwann Oltorain of the Imperial Knights. He died in a battle on Mt. Temza and was brought back to life by the commandant of the Knights, Alexei, through the use of a special kind of blastia technology.
Ten years later, he became a sort of double agent, working for both the Empire, as Schwann, and the Guilds, a group of people working independently from the Empire, as Raven. He would occasionally give advice or assistance to Yuri Lowell in his fishy sort of way before he eventually joined him at the forest of Keiv Moc to investigate an increased amount of monster activity and aer flow in the area. Although they went their separate ways after the mission was a success, Raven wound up tagging along with Yuri’s party again on guild business to deliver a letter to the Duce of the guild Pallestralle, Belius. During this little mission, he dropped a hint that he may be more than just a fishy old man.
Indeed he was. It turned out that he was indeed the elusive Captain Schwann when he aided Alexei in capturing the princess of the Empire, Estelle, for his grand scheme. As Schwann, he cast aside his goofy demeanor and fought against the ones he betrayed, even the young leader of the guild, Brave Vesperia, Karol, who had looked up to him before. Ultimately, he lost to Yuri’s party just as the temple where they were fighting was about to collapse. In order to save them, he appeared to sacrifice himself, since he felt that there was no point for a dead man like him even to be alive.
Somehow, though, the dead-man-walking-traitor survived thanks to the bumbling but loyal members of his brigade. His goofy side seemed to have come back, as well. He showed up again on the Heracles, where, after a good pummeling as punishment for his betrayal, he became a member of Brave Vesperia. He then went on to help save Estelle, knowing full well that since he betrayed Alexei by joining Yuri, his blastia heart could be shut down at any time. This old man didn’t care, though. So long as he could do something useful with his life, he didn’t have any regrets, even if it meant saving Terca Lumireis in the process.
After the events of the game, Raven stumbled upon the heroes’ headquarters. Not having anything better to do, he thought he might as well check it out. It could be interesting, and perhaps something to let Karol or Yuri know about.
Universe: Terca Lumireis [Tales of Vesperia]
Appearance: He’s a somewhat tall, tanned man with long, black hair tied up in a ponytail and a bit of a stubbly beard. His eyes are light blue. He’s usually seen wearing an outfit with a long, purple coat.

Other: Little known fact: Ravens make great punching bags!
